Higgins Homes welcomes Government plans to restart home moves

Posted 13/05/2020

Higgins Homes welcomes the Government’s announcement that, as of Wednesday 13th May, it is easing lockdown restrictions for home movers, buyers and sellers while continuing to ensure strict social distancing measures remain in place. This means that alongside developers, estate agents are now able to safely reopen for business, viewings can take place and surveyors and moving companies are able to restart operations.

We have been closely following Government guidance during the lockdown period and in line with this advice, our sales and marketing suites have been closed and some of our construction sites have only operated where strict social distancing coupled with safety rules were able to be imposed.

In light of this week’s announcements and with the wellbeing of our customers and team our highest priority, we are now reviewing our procedures to ensure we can reopen our sales and marketing suites and show homes safely and in line with social distancing measures.

We will be sharing our plans with our customers, prioritising those who are already in the process of purchasing a home with us, as soon as possible. Clearly, homes that had been reserved or where contracts have been exchanged, but where construction has had to cease during lockdown will be our first priority.

In the meantime, we would like to thank you all for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.
