Beating off stiff competition, a local developer scooped first place in a prestigious awards ceremony on 26 April at The Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, London.

Higgins Homes was awarded Best Private Developer Of The Year 2019 at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards, one of the most acclaimed in the industry. The Awards are an annual celebration of some of the many lengths that are gone to in order to help aspirational buyers on to the housing ladder. From housebuilders and housing associations to legal companies, these prestigious awards ensure the best in the business are recognised and rewarded for their hard work.

Higgins Homes is a multi-award winning housebuilder and are especially proud of this recognition from first-time buyers. Assessed by a panel of professional judges, the shortlisted entries were then shown on the First Time buyer Readers’ Award website for the public to cast the final vote.

“The challenges that first-time buyers face are extremely important to Higgins Homes, which makes winning this award hugely humbling,” says Jeremy Marcus, Sales & Marketing Director at Higgins Homes. “We strive to provide creative solutions to ensure that the first-time buyer doesn’t have to make too many compromises.”

The Best Private Developer Of The Year category focused not only on the design and quality of the properties built, but also on all aspects of the developer’s performance. The judges praised Higgins Homes’ approach to design and commended the architectural teams who ensured that each development maximised space and embraced innovation and new technology. With no standard house or apartment type, the judges were impressed with how Higgins Homes’ approach each development to complement and enhance its location.

The judges commented that this design-led approach to building including open-plan layouts, large windows to create light-filled rooms, as well as generous storage and private outside space, set Higgins Homes apart from other developers. They remarked how the open space is complemented with a specification that is designed to be beautiful, functional and generous.

“We were delighted that the judges and the readers acknowledge our design-led approach and the commitment to ensure that each home was built with its future owners in mind,” adds Jeremy Marcus. “With a range of buying schemes including Help to Buy and Part Exchange, we are doing all we can to make the buying process as straight forward as possible.”

This was the second award win of the night for Higgins Homes, who also took home an award for the Best Architectural Design for The Reserve in Waltham Cross.
