Just 17 miles from central London and surrounded by its historical forest, Epping has long been a hot spot for commuters and villagers alike. Epping Forest's most convenient station, Chingford, is only 35-40 minutes from Liverpool St. Station. The town itself is a market town and civil parish in the Epping Forest district of the highly sort-after County of Essex. Despite its notable development it has retained a distinctive rural charm with working farmland and plenty of green space.
The weekly market, held every Monday, dates back to 1253 and still attracts visitors from the nearby towns and villages. The main High Street is home to a broad collection of recognisable outlets and amenities, along with numerous independent boutiques selling everything from clothing to books and bikes. There is also a blossoming café culture and plenty of places to eat and drink.
With the vast expanse of forest on its doorstep, keeping active in Epping is as easy as it gets. For those cold and rainy days there is a Concept Fitness Gym located right on the High Street as well as several yoga and Pilates practitioners dotted around the town. There are also various local sports clubs including football, tennis, and cricket teams. Public transportation is one of Epping's greatest assets.
It is served by a number of bus routes connecting towns and villages around Essex. It is also the last stop on the Central Line of the London Underground, allowing swift and easy access to the City. The train station boasts one of the largest car parks on the London Underground network with over 500 spaces. There are several primary schools in Epping and one secondary - now designated as a specialist Engineering College.
The latter has recently been completely rebuilt on a new site with the old site becoming the location for Higgins Homes' new and exciting development. This multi-year scheme will see the addition of 111 new properties to the area with the first occupations scheduled for summer. There will be a range of one and two bedroom apartments, to three, four and five bedroom houses all of which are designed to high-end specification synonymous with Higgins Homes.
Arboretum aims to accommodate every stage of the property ladder, from first-time buyers to upscale family homes and downscale retirement residencies. Off-plan sales will be available from 26th April 2014, but we advise prompt offers because these properties are set to disappear fast. First occupations estimated from Summer 2014.
