An award winning entrepreneur has found the perfect place to combine the convenience of city living, with the relaxed pace of country life.
Adam Ludwin, age 26, has recently moved into Ashbee Lodge in Chigwell and is enjoying the ease of which his new home allows him to commute into London. “I work in Convent Garden five days a week in Digital Media,” says Mr Ludwin. “The thought of also living in the City feels like too much and it is great to be able to escape and enjoy a more chilled out weekend.”
Mr Ludwin and his partner have bought a stylish two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment at the Higgins Homes development, located just one-minute walk away from Chigwell tube station. “Living so close to the tube has really changed our lives,” explains Mr Ludwin. “It is a very simple commute into London and we are both really enjoying a much more pleasant journey into work every day.”
Although Ashbee Lodge is just a few miles away from Epping Forest and is surrounded by green space and unspoilt countryside, there is also a parade of shops just a short stroll away with everything you need for day to day life such as a pharmacy, bank, Post Office, bakers, deli, flower shop, barbers, boutiques and restaurant.
“It is so convenient to just be able to pop out of our apartment and grab something for dinner or pick up a few essentials,” adds Mr Ludwin. “I hardly use my car anymore, which has really improved the quality of our lives. We have an underground garage so the car just needs to come out when we want to take a trip somewhere.”
Built in the Arts and Crafts style, so prevalent in the area, Ashbee Lodge features tall chimneys, pitch tiled and dormer roofs and is surrounded by lush, tree-fringed gardens. “I really don’t like the look of many new build developments but Higgins Homes have created Ashbee Lodge to blend in seamlessly with its surroundings,” says Mr Ludwin. “In fact, if you were to drive by, you probably wouldn’t even spot that Ashbee Lodge is a new development of apartments because it looks like all the other grand homes the other on the road.”
Internally, the couple have created a very stylish décor that reflects their personalities and have built upon the high-end fittings, which are included in the specification. “All the basics were in place for us to stamp our own style onto the property and we have created a perfect space for us to relax,” adds Mr Ludwin. “We love being able to sit in the lounge overlooking the golf course and it is really great to have such a lovely outside space too.”
Mr Ludwin explains that the buying process was very simple and straightforward and they were able to exchange and complete very quickly. “We have had strong support from the sales staff during the whole process and we are still in touch with them now if any questions arise,” he concludes.
The initial impression of Ashbee Lodge is that of a traditional, and imposing, private house, which blends seamlessly with the other mansions in the area. This sought after area is just one-minute walk from Chigwell tube station that provides direct links into London’s Liverpool Street and into Stratford for the Westfield Shopping Centre.
As well as excellent local shops and boutiques, notable restaurants near Ashbee Lodge include The Bluebell, located in the heart of Chigwell, which represents the finest in modern British and European cuisine, and Sheesh, a family run restaurant owned by Chigwell resident Lord Alan Sugar’s company.
