Schools are always a major consideration when it comes to moving. Newlands Spring

Summary: Newlands Spring is a mixed Academy school for children between the ages of 4 – 11 years old that is a member of Attain Academy Partnership and the lead school in the Chelmsford Teaching School Alliance. It seeks to combine high academic expectations with a child-centred approach and find and develop the potential in every pupil.

Tyrrells

Ofsted rating: Outstanding (Inspected 19 November 2008)

Summary: Tyrrells is a mixed Academy school for children between the ages of 4 – 11 years old that is part of the Chelmsford Teaching School Alliance. It is a larger than average primary school, with 15 classes, and aims to be an exciting place for children to learn and grow as a person.

Columbus school and college

Summary: Columbus school and college is a mixed school for children between the ages of 3 – 19 years old with special needs. It was formed from two former special needs schools  - all young people admitted to Columbus must have a full Statement of Special Educational Needs or an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) or be in the process of having their Statement or EHCP finalised.

King Edward VI Grammar School

Ofsted rating: Outstanding (Inspected 20 Jan 2010)

Summary: King Edward VI Grammar School is a mixed Academy school for children between the ages of 11 – 18 years old. It is one of England’s leading state grammar schools, and it has a history dating back to its foundation in 1551. The school mixes a traditional emphasis on courtesy, personal conduct and respect for others, with a modern interest in the latest educational research.

The Boswells School

Summary: The Boswells School is a mixed academy school for children between the ages of 11 – 18 years old. It is a dynamic and forward thinking school where an innovative approach to teaching and learning ensures that more students than ever are achieving high levels of academic success.

New Hall School

Distance from The Parva Green Development: 4.4 miles

Ofsted rating: Excellent (Inspected October 2016 by the Independent Schools Inspectorate)

Summary: New Hall School is an independent school for boys and girls of ages 3 – 18 years old, which teaches male and female pupils separately and also has boarding facilities. It is focused on providing individual opportunities to grow, learn, be challenged and develop, and teaches pupils using the ‘diamond model.’ Gender stereotyping of subjects is removed - girls and boys follow an identical curriculum and do not learn to perceive subjects as being more suited to either girls or boys.
