The Area
Mention the name Battersea the area’s most famous landmark will probably spring to mind. Occupying a high profile riverside location, the iconic Battersea Power Station is scheduled for massive redevelopment into a major entertainment and leisure destination, which is likely to impact positively on future property values in Battersea. Battersea is also well known for its eateries, shops, pubs and bars. A range of specialist clothes and home ware retailers can be found on nearby Albert Bridge and Battersea Bridge roads whilst Northcote Road is renowned locally for its deli-style food shops and weekly market.
A leisurely summer evening’s stroll across Albert or Chelsea Bridge leads to Chelsea and, of course, the Kings Road, still one of London’s more notable streets for fashion, eating and all-round entertainment. As you’d expect, Battersea boasts a vibrant restaurant scene, offering a diverse variety of cuisine from destinations as far flung as Argentina, the Caribbean and Malaysia, as well as the more traditional Chinese, Italian, Indian and Thai.
Wandsworth even has its own Michelin starred establishment – Chez Bruce – a short cab ride from Orion on Wandsworth Common Road.
More prosaically, but as important, Orion is within easy walking distance of two major supermarkets on Battersea Park Road.
